December 29th - Full Moon in Cancer
We've landed on the last full moon of 2020. We want to rest - and indeed must rest. This moon shines bright and directly into our hearts desire. Acknowledging what resides in our deepest core can be just as uncomfortable as it is beautiful. This is not a time to spring into
action, but to simply be and rest into the awareness of self. As a challenging and unusual year comes to a close, we look ahead with a need to clarify our own relationships with self, as well as the systems we exist within. Decisions around what to take with us into the next collective phase and what to intentionally leave behind with gratitude become struck by the light of this moon. In this moment, we stand at a clear crossroads. What makes us who we are? Our careers, families, friends,
habits, hobbies - how we champion ourselves, or hold ourselves back - these are the facets of self which are illuminated and reflected in the pools of our very being. Be present and in acceptance with yourself at this time. Do your best to witness these aspects of yourself without judgement. This Cancer moon comes with sensitivity, sincerity, sweetness, and a good sense of humor. Let this moon guide your own appraisal of being.

CANCER COZY CORNER
Cancer energy supports comfort - the sort of comfort that comes from having a safe space, people who truly support you, a well stocked pantry, and a warm hearth. In this time of political upheaval, global health crisis, and true stress - it can be difficult to lean into feelings of safety and comfort. Use this Cancer Full Moon to allow yourself a moment of relaxation - create a "cozy corner" as an altar space for yourself! This doesn't mean clean your whole house, change your routines, or
add any extra stress to your day. Set aside 5 minutes to an hour, however long works for you. Grab something that brings your joy and comfort, maybe some fuzzy socks, a warm beverage, a scented candle - wrap up in a blanket and surround yourself in pillows, and take some time to find your comfort! Maybe listen to a podcast, journal, watch an episode of your favorite show, or call a beloved friend. This is a spell for your own comfort, finding joy despite chaos is a radical act!
You deserve all the pleasure you can find babe.
As an added simple ritual, light a candle, prepare yourself some tea (such as the Heart Opening Tea
Blend - recipe below!), then shuffle and draw a single tarot or oracle card to use as a journal prompt. Ask yourself this question: "Where do I draw my confidence and balance from? How can I tend to it
at this time?" Let the card drawn illuminate the corners of your mind as you write your answer.
MAGICAL ALLY - SALT
Seemingly humble, accessible everywhere - Salt is essential for life and has been used by humans for centuries. Salt is generally good for cleansing and purifying intentions, and this magical tool can be used in kitchen magic, bath rituals, and hearth magic. A dish of salt on an altar can call in the element of Earth, and placing crystals or magical tools on a dish of salt or inside a circle of salt will clear their energy. Add a 1/4 cup of sea salt to a ritual bath to enhance its
energetic clearing magic, or use a salt scrub at the end of a long stressful day to clear your aura. Sprinkle salt in doorways and along windowsills to enhance and protect your home. A pinch of flaky sea salt on top of chocolate chip cookies is a spell for pleasure and clarity!

HEART OPENING TEA BLEND
Cancer rules the chest and stomach, often areas where we can feel or be connected to our intuition. Cancers are deeply sensitive, but also protected by their shell - open yourself up to your true feelings this full moon by sipping a cup of this heart opening tea.
You will need:
1 part rose petals - invites in self compassion, and sacred boundaries
1 part tulsi - anti-inflammatory and invites in vitality
1 part Passion flower - calming and soothing
Combine all ingredients in a jar with an airtight lid. Steep 1-2 tablespoons in hot water, sweeten with honey if desired! Note any sensations or feelings that come up while you sip, your intuition may be trying to tell you something.
