Full Moon in Aries, Oct
1
Hello, Aries - you strong, fiery and passionate lover, you. The Moon is full, illuminated in wholeness by the fierce motivation that Aries carries. This brand new month offers brand new opportunity to tap into our inner desires and reign them in with
full-as-the-moon unapologetic force. As the seasons change, there is a sense of growth and newness in us as well, as fresh as the cool and crisp October wind. What rare autumnal blossom are we discovering ourselves to be? This is the time to shine, as said by the moon itself. Aries beckons us towards our own determination, and asks us to remove what is complicating our mission and drive. We may be surprised by what we find when all the details are given room to air out! Perhaps there
are some blindingly clear examples that are so monolithic that we either haven't wanted to acknowledge them, or simply haven't had the chance with the bustle of summer at our heels. Now that the summer heat has been replaced with a cool autumn breeze, perhaps we can readjust our sight and begin the brave steps forward into new realms of self-discovery. This is big magic, supported by big Aries energy. Remember to be patient. Aries can be a touch bossy, though a little friendly push into the
unknown can come as a blessing, too.
Using one of your favorite tarot decks, light a Clearing or Full Moon candle, put the kettle on for a
hot cup of tea and try this three card spread asking a question for each card. 1) What exciting new change is on the horizon? 2) What do I not clearly see that needs letting go? 3) How can I best serve myself throughout the rest of the year?

ARIES CANDLE ALTAR
Full Moon in Aries is a great time to charge yourself with the boundless generosity, courage, and energy this sign brings. To call in this energy, dress a candle for Aries, and use it on your altar during this moon cycle. This is a great time to gather all your magical tools and add them to your altar, to help clear them and infuse them with
this powerful energy!
Start by gathering your supplies.
You will need: a yellow, orange, or red candle, geranium essential oil, ground ginger, ground sage, and a ruby gemstone. If you don't have all of these materials, no worries! Feel free to
use what you have, make substitutions that are calling to you, or use your spirit to call in the energy.
Dress your candle by first drawing the sigil of Aries, writing your intention on the candle, or writing your intention down on a piece of paper and placing it under your candle. Poke some holes with a toothpick in the top of the candle, and add a few drops of the essential oil. Sprinkle your herbs around the candle top (be careful to
keep them a distance from the wick!) Place your gemstone in front of your candle on your altar. Once your candle is dressed, light it and meditate with it for your ritual.
What feelings come up? Jot down any notes, and use your newly enhanced courage to apply for that dream job, text your crush, or post that cute selfie!
HAWTHORNE HERBAL ALLY
Hawthorne is a deeply magical herbal ally. Used in many different practices and rituals, Hawthorne blossoms appear in many spring festivals. The white blossoms mark the end of the dark days of winter, so use it as an ally in fall to remind yourself of seasons to come. Juxtaposed with the beautiful flowers, the
Hawthorne tree is also adorned with thorns, making it a deeply protective plant as well. Hawthorne is often planted around doorways to protect homes, or incorporated into amulets for protective adornment magic. Along with Ash and Oak, Hawthorne is thought to form the "fairy triad" - offering a portal to another world, an invitation to connect with the spirit of play and fantasy. Use Hawthorne magic to feel grounded, protected, and playful.
