Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse in
Capricorn
July 5th, 2020
This full moon is here to support our own inner illumination, reminding us that we can and do shine from morning until night, brighter and brighter with a little dedication to self-care and nurturing. Themes of abusive power have been upended in recent months,
highlighted by the deep illuminations of the full moons of 2020 and further sharpened through a season of eclipses. These themes not only find themselves in the larger collective but are also reflected in how we treat ourselves, too. A more conscientious world begins with consistent inner work, as worker bee Capricorn demands. However, it is all too easy to slip into the throes of burnout during this time, both physical and emotional. How we continue to make
these summer months matter is found through balance. Work and play. Rest and action. This eclipse in Capricorn is here to shed light on what we may need to be pursuing with greater perseverance, as well as what's necessary to let go of, even temporarily. It's hard to pave a new path forward while our arms are full. We become physically exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed. What we do now will directly effect our stability and growth in Autumn. This deep knowing can ignite us into action,
sinking our teeth into the moment with absolute abandon. But the necessity to seek and apply balance remains essential. In becoming blindly dedicated to our pursuits, we run the risk of losing track of them, forgetting what we were even doing in the first place. Stay the course, but weave in a golden thread of self-care practice. Stay consistent, beginning at this lunar peak and tracking your willingness as it continues to wane and wax again throughout the summer and
into fall.
To integrate into this energy from skin to soul, take time to sparkle in your own glow and bask in your light through a bathing ritual, which can be done with a tub, shower, or foot soak. Pick your favorite sunny essential oils such as jasmine or orange blossom and offer a few drops to the water. You can also anoint yourself by blending a very few drops of essential oil into a carrier oil (such as jojoba,
sweet almond, coconut or sesame). This can be liberally dripped into the tub or used directly on your skin after you are freshly bathed. During this ritual, make space for self-gratitude for all that you've accomplished, all that you've dared to envision, and for creating this space for sacred ritual and intentional rest.

CAPRICORN + THE TAROT
Today's full moon is in Capricorn, a card ruled by the Devil card of the Tarot. When the Devil shows up in a tarot reading, we are being asked to look at systems that are holding us back. These can be real or perceived ideas or constructs that are keeping us trapped, and they can be on an individual or community wide level.
The current movement supporting Black Lives Matter really feels like a Devil card moment. We have people all over the world using their voices, bodies, sweat, and tears to shed light on a deeply broken and harmful system. The systematic racism in this country is something that is deeply engrained - the system is working exactly the way it was built to - and we need to tear it all down to build something better. White people who are waking up to
ways they have caused harm to Black + BIPOC communities may feel like this time is overwhelming - however, that is the illusion of the Devil. The Devil wants us to believe that these systems are outside of our control, but really we are all in control of our own destinies. We're each capable of making change, and supporting our Black + BIPOC neighbors, businesses, community members, and friends. White folks and those with privilege are now called to take on the necessary work of
self-educating, and independently holding space for feelings of guilt or fragility.
There are always actions to take no matter how hopeless a situation might feel. Write a lawmaker a letter, donate money directly and to organizations, volunteer your time, make someone a meal. Understand that putting energy out into the world with intention is a spell. Hex White Supremacy!
SHINE BRIGHT
This month's theme is Body as Sanctuary, but it's important to recognize and name all the sanctuaries that bring you comfort and joy. Do you love your house? Your bed? The park? Getting lost in a painting or your bestie's arms?
Lets utilize today's Capricorn Full Moon energy to actualize the things we need in the real world right now. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and Saturn sure likes its rules, constraints and confinements! So, how are you shining like the full moon within your limitations right now? Bask in your accomplishments- big and small as an act of self care! Share them with us and your loved ones, and weave the spell of taking up space in
all your perfect imperfection. You deserve to be a whole, authentic, messy, beautiful human.

A WITCHES WINDOW SPELL
This is a spell for clearing out stagnate energy in the home. This is the perfect refresh for spaces that have gotten stale after spending a lot of time indoors due to quarantine, to encourage creativity, and to remind yourself that you are safe and held in your space. For this spell, you will need a spray bottle - we love repurposing an old container! - 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, and 10-20 drops of your favorite citrus essential oil. Lemon is deeply cleansing, Grapefruit encourages abundance, and Orange brings confidence and creativity. You will also need a small towel, rag or paper towels.
Combine your ingredients in the spray bottle and shake to combine. Then, spritz all your windows and mirrors with the solution and wipe it away. As you spray, visualize all the energies you are clearing out of the space, and as you wipe away - visualize the new energies you are inviting into your home. Say an affirmation of gratitude for your space, and gratitude to yourself for taking the time to tend to your home. You deserve to be held in a space
that is safe, bright, and welcoming. Be sure to spray down any shades or window coverings as well. After cleaning, open any windows wide to invite fresh air and new energies in!

...A sanctuary is personal. What you imagine to be a space of safety and comfort might be different than somebody else, and that’s okay. It’s wonderful, actually. To impart your own standards of what feels right is an act of empowerment, and will adjust your reality outwards, piece by piece. When creating a sanctuary, first begin with establishing what gives you a sense of safety and comfort. This space is meant for you to surround yourself with
talismans and reflections of your true magical self. What kind of witch are you? How does magic flow through you? What would you like to see more of in your rituals and magical practices? ...
