Moon Solar Eclipse June 20th in Cancer
Swim in the more mellow energy of this time and reflect on the year so far! You're halfway there; what goals have you set and where are you in reaching them? It's very likely that we've had to face some heavy adjustments in what we hoped 2020 would be. Now is a great time to
remember the internal work done around these changes, and be extra kind and gracious to ourselves. It's been hard work! You're doing great. If you intentions have changed, make note of it. Cast some watery wishes and spells during this new moon! The spirit of this phase reflects feelings of calm, reflective renewal. Stare into the still waters and get a little lost in your own radiance. Stretch yourself as far as you are able. Explore what you find as you seek more of your own light. Exploring
can look however you want it to from cooking without a recipe, wining and dining yourself, or getting to know the angles of your gorgeous form just a little more completely. Now is the time to think outside the basic box, because you are truly anything but basic.

SUMMER SOLSTICE: RECLAIMING FIRE
The summer solstice, also known as Litha, is not only recognized as the longest day of the year, it's one of the sabbats of the wheel of the year. The sun has reached its highest point, burning bright and rekindling our burning hearts. This is commonly a time of gathering and celebration, though the energies of the year thus far have brought us to a very unusual and unknown place. Many of us are feeling uncomfortable, confused, or angry. Perhaps
as we dive further into our own value as magical worthy individuals, we should take the opportunity to remember those who came before. Those who were also worthy and always will be, but lost their lives to the fight against oppression. In some places, it is still traditional to light a bonfire to resemble the witches that have been killed, many being queer and femme ancestors. As a counter, we offer you the chance to reclaim the right to fire. We wield it when we speak our truth,
we birth it through our bodies and minds, we kindle it with our flourishing pleasure and self-care, and remember it when seeking aid from our divine guides. Fire is unapologetically present during the summer solstice, as the mother of all fires scorches the sky above. It gives life just as it takes. Without the fire above or the fire within, life would not exist.
During this summer solstice, celebrate yourself as worthy. Light a candle to commemorate those lost to oppression in a world that was afraid of their fire. Burn extra bright for them, and for yourself.

ST. JOHNS WORT: HERBAL SUNSHINE
A welcome ally for this season, and yet another beautiful elemental to reclaim through magic. St. Johns Wort - also known as tippon weed, klamath weed, or amber - holds a dark corner of history for witches and magical practitioners. Used against its own nature, this plant was held to the mouths of accused witches in an attempt to force them to confess. Perhaps in gratitude and unity, this bright midsummer friend has become
a favorite among witches for its protective and joyful properties.
Governed by the element of fire and long associated with the sun, St. Johns Wort has nearly identical medicinal and magical effects- meant to encourage the bright and sunny from within, stave off the ghosts of the past that haunt us, quell lingering sadness, relieve anxiety, and support protection. It is also used as a balm to support the healing of topical wounds, as well as magically address pains of the heart. Traditionally gathered at summer
solstice, it's a wonderful addition to dream spells, protection spells, and prophetic rituals. Offer some St. Johns Wort to a tarot reading, or drop some dried herbs into your tea. A humble but spritely flowering herb, this plant reminds us to enjoy the simple moments, to enact gratitude for this moment, and to bask in the radiance of ourselves.
Develop a relationship with this herb by sitting with it, either freshly harvested or dried. Spend time receiving its energy, and thanking it for giving us so much during this season. Feel it supporting you in retrieving any lost sense of self-worth. Banish the ghosts that are no longer welcome in your life and celebrate your white hot fires within!
