Hi ,
We’re in the home stretch! Next up… Magic in the Mundane!
I’ve often thought of my mother as a kitchen witch. She made a living selling pastries door to door when we lived in Tbilisi, providing the income for three generations of women living under one roof. Sometimes our resilience and strength presents itself when our loved ones need us most, but what if we could cultivate that same passion for ourselves? We are worth all the love, fight, passion, and drive. You. You deserve to stand in your power and know
that you can take the world on and wrap yourself in softness at the same time. Reach back to your ancestors, the generations of survivors and healers. Reach back and ask them to be with you daily. You need no training and no tools to do this, just the space to stand in your own power. Call on the magic of your bloodlines while making a meal. Call on the magic of artists, writers, queers, witches throughout time while stepping into a warm bath or waiting for your therapy appointment to start.
Self-love is a practice in resilience, a powerful action that reminds you that you deserve to be here, to be loved, supported, and flourish in your life. Surround yourself with things and communities you find beautiful. The most mundane things can hold the most magic: a sprig of rosemary hung in the kitchen for clearing, offering a stranger help, drinking coffee out of a favorite cup, a loving note written on a mirror, a delicious meal prepared with love. Magic can be woven into every aspect of
your life if you let it.
15 minute journal prompts:
-
How do I value beauty and pleasure?
-
How do I invite beauty into my life?
-
What is 1 thing that’s beautiful about my life now, and why?
Day 4 Magical Morning Practice: Building a self-love Altar
- Find 3 items that reflect you and what you love most about yourself/ your life. If you’re not sure, pick up some rose quartz, pink candles, and a photo of yourself.
- Clear a space in a room you’re in often (a shelf, dresser, windowsill, side of bathtub) and set the items on it.
- Find a tealight or pink candle and light it on this small self-love altar.
- Sit with it a moment and write or say this intention: “I am surrounded by Magic, I welcome it to settle here and in my life.”
This little Altar is you carving space for your personal magic! It gives the Magic a place to settle and gives pleasure space in your life. When we have a physical representation of something (like an Altar), it is easier for the energy we're working with to settle in our life. I build these tiny Altars and take them down often, but you can leave yours up and sit with it every morning. If you feel nervous about having a self-love Altar up for a while try
building one on the ledge of your bathtub while you bathe, or out in nature on a hike or camping trip, taking it down when you're done with the bath or the hike.
Takeaway:
Self-love is a practice in resilience, a powerful action that reminds you that you deserve to be here, to be loved, supported, and flourish in your life. This is a cultivated practice we have lost touch with, but call on it (be it a whisper, a prayer, or a letter to an Ancestor), and it will come. Magic can be woven into every aspect of your life if you let it.
Share your takeaways from the promos on IG and lets have a community conversation about it!
