This year has been a lot, babes! We had a giant flood that required taking the back portion of our space down
to the studs, then someone new bought the building and thankfully replaced the roof. We hosted 97 community events this year! Some, we cried at, some we laughed and made art at. It's been a hard year for the business, but also a year full of amazing community and love.Â
Â
On a personal note, I got a health diagnosis that made
it hard for me to work my usual hours. The year has been filled with chasing doctors down and piecing information together like I was racing to create a treasure map. I'm happy to say it paid off and I'm feeling more like myself, though I did have to keep a spreadsheet and I am in fact allergic to those. This new diagnosis means I can't hustle like I used to, probably ever again, and that's ok. If this is a new era for my life, it'll also be a new era for the shop, and I
have full faith that this incredible community (yes, you!) will continue to show and and build with me. I started Seagrape in college y'all- the brand is turning 17 this holiday season, and I'm excited at the magic to come!
Â
As we move into the new year, I just want to say THANK YOU for being with me through the ups and downs,
and continuing to show up for small businesses, and the humans that run them imperfectly. So many shops I love have closed this year and it really affects the local economy and the joy of having beautiful and intentional things to reach for. Let's greet 2026 with hope, creativity, and community care. We need each other!Â
