Â
A Talisman Spell: Be In My BodyÂ
Â
Summer Solstice brings a time of
consistent sunshine, when our bodies become warm and our skin feels brushed by solar heat and warm winds. The world around us is acting as a reminder that we live in bodies that need tending to. With busy days of tending to everything else (our life, our work, our relationships), it can be difficult to remind yourself of your body. To live through your day feeling close to it, to be called back into it.Â
Work with the
sun and use this spell as an invitation to create something that you can carry with you (a talisman) to bring out when you need grounding or centering or simply a reminder that you are a babe with a body that needs a breath, a touch, or a squeeze.Â
Â
You Will Need:
- A talisman of your choosing; this
can be as lavish as jewelry you'll wear regularly or adornment that feels more ritualistic (or both!) PS we just
got a Trollbinde restock that's not to be missed!
- A candle, or the
image of flame in your mind's eyeÂ
- An invocation you create or findÂ
Â
To create your talisman, take your item and sit with it in a place you feel magically connected. It can be your altar, or perhaps in your garden, or the bathtub. Think of the purpose of this item: To bring you back into your body, to
remind you of the magic you hold in this vessel, to strike a spark and keep your inner flame lit.Â
Â
Light your candle and hold your talisman close. Call your energy back to your body and feel it sync up with the item you hold; let it become a part of you. Wave the item over the heat of the candle (be careful of flammable items, of course),
and feel the heat of the flame awaken your talisman.Â
Â
Speak the invocation of your choosing, out loud or mentally. This is something you will think or say whenever you use your talisman, so it can be short and simple, i.e., "I am here, I am present, I am in my body, my body is a gift."Â
Â
You can repeat it as many times as you'd like until you feel your spirit settle. This practice can be used throughout the day or in deeper ritual. It partners lovely with a daily self-massage or during your morning/evening skincare routines. Reach for your talisman every time you want a reminder that your body and your existence deserve to be celebrated.Â
