Â
From Witching 101: Day 2, Boundaries and ProtectionÂ
Â
Boundary and protection magic is the
bread and butter of witchcraft, babes. When we create sacred containers to hold us and our energy, we're creating an opportunity for deeper connection on our own terms. And contrary to popular notions about protection magic, this is what boundaries and protection are really all about — joyful, pleasure-full connection. Protection magic is pleasure magic!
Â
What is a boundary?
For the witch, a boundary is simply an energetic agreement or container. When we set a boundary, we invite certain energies and disinvite others to keep ourselves safe. By setting a boundary, we also outline in explicit terms how our needs, desires, and energies can exist in relationship with the needs, desires, and energies of others.Â
Â
Why are boundaries important?
Not all boundaries are changeable or negotiable, but because boundaries help us set the container for connection, it's important to name them! When we speak openly about our boundaries, we allow those we're in relationship with (i.e. other witchy folks, our
guides, our plant allies, and even ourselves) to connect with us in the ways that feel good. Setting boundaries is about giving others permission and opportunity to care for us as much as it isabout disinviting energies, people, and behaviors that feel unsafe.Â
