Happy Summer Solstice, witches!

Things are softening, ripening, and expanding now. At summer, we reach our fullness — this is a time for spells, songs, and enchantment! This solstice marks a viscerally magical growth edge, and now is the time to take yourself up on your dreams. Go for it, witch.

Crafting Summer Oxymels

If you haven't been introduced to the magic of the oxymel, let us do the honors!

Composed of apple cider vinegar, honey, fruits, and herbs, oxymels are one of the easiest and gentlest herbal medicines you can whip up in your kitchen! We love using these potions as a salad dressing, added to soda water for an herbal drinking vinegar, or sautéed with greens in the morning.

The recipe is super simple:

Add 1 cup of fruit, plants, or herbs of your choosing to a mason jar with 1 cup (covering all the way to the top) of apple cider vinegar. Steep mixture covered for a month (place parchment paper between the lid and jar!) After a month, strain and add an equal amount of honey (ex: 1 cup of infused apple cider to 1 cup of honey).

Here's the blend of herbs and fruits we like to use:

A mixture of ripe peach, raspberry, strawberry for preserving summer abundance
Pinch of tarragon for passion and creative fire
Pinch of garden sage for clarity and protection
Pinch of marigold for the ancestors and summer joy
