In the Northern hemisphere, the beginning of February marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. In this liminal space of "between" and "almost," we stand at the threshold of our own becoming.Â
Â
In February, the first buds of change are still deep in winter slumber, dreaming. Â
Â
What are you dreaming of becoming in the spring season, witch? What words would you use to name this process of transformation?
Â
Language is the scaffolding that supports our
meaning-making process, and our words are inherently magical. When we give our words renewed attention, we can catalyze our own transformation in surprising, and deeply pleasureful, ways.
Â
If you're ready to give your words your
full attention, you're already invoking the power of word witchery to create change.
Â
On February 8th, we're joining Jezmina Von Thiele, a life-long word witch, tarot reader, and fortune-teller, to craft our own word
spells as we ease into the last stretch of winter and dream into the coming spring. In this workshop container, we'll explore:
- The relationship between written spells and poetry, getting curious about both forms from a magical and historical context Â
- How to begin a poetic spellwriting practice through ritual, even if you've never written a
poem or a spell before
- Exercises and prompts for stretching into our magical desires and goals through our writing
- Seasonal wisdom for embracing the void of creative possibility as we cross the boundary between winter and spring
